Advice for beginner learning the stock market?

That depends on whether you want to be a trader (short-term positions, watching the market a lot) or an investor. The books liste on the websitr are all about trading. Trading can be profitable, but takes a lot of discipline.
If you want to be an investor, start with economics. Economics foresaw this bust while the DOW was still on the way to 14,000. Economics moves the market, and the market moves the stocks. When the market crashes, good stocks get taken down with the bad.
