Coal imports from China tripled in 2009
The volume of coal imports from China has more than tripled in 2009, the recovery plan of the country boosted demand.
Coal imports from China totaled 130 million tons in 2009, with an average price of 84 dollars per tonne, said the General Administration of Customs on Wednesday in a statement posted on its website.
The administration attributed the growth to rising coal prices inside and insufficient supply due to increased demand after the entry into force of the economic recovery plan.
