Today’s Big Gainers: MSO, GLS, LXRX, BCRX
The Home Depot (HD) announced an agreement to develop an exclusive Martha Stewart Living (MSO) brand of home improvement products. In January, an Outdoor Living category of products will be launched, with Home Organization and Home Decor categories to follow. Shares of Martha Stewart Living advanced about 6% in morning trading Tuesday.
Genesis Lease (GLS) announced today it is in discussions with another party concerning a possible M&A transaction. The announcement came after market rumors fueled a surge in its stock price yesterday. Shares continued upward Tuesday morning, trading over 6 and a half percent higher.
Shares of Lexicon Pharmaceuticals (LXRX) more than doubled in price Tuesday, after the company announced favorable results from a phase 1 clinical trial of its treatment for type 2 diabetes. Lexicon will now launch a phase 2 trial of the drug candidate.
And shares of BioCryst Pharmaceuticals (BCRX) gained over 13 and a half percent after the company announced agreements with three different partners to market and distribute its Peramvir anti-viral agent outside the U.S. The partnerships cover Brazil, Mexico, China, and Israel.
