NFA imported rice to arrive Friday
The National Food Authority first batch of imported rice will arrive Friday at the International Port in Brgy. Loboc, La Paz in this city.
NFA Iloilo Director Hedy Jardeleza said that the 6,200 metric tons of imported rice, or equivalent to 124,000 bags, will arrive tomorrow on board the MV Han Nam from Vietnam.
?Actually this shipment will arrive earlier than we expected which is supposedly in February,? Jardeleza said.
According to the regional NFA official, the imported rice will be distributed to the different provinces of Panay and Guimaras island as part of stock piling in preparation for forthcoming lean months.
The NFA Regional Office 6 has a total request of 500,000 bags of imported rice for Panay and Guimaras for this year.
