Nikkei closes 0.69% higher
TOKYO, July 5– Tokyo stocks closed slightly higher Monday with the key Nikkei index increasing 0.69 percent.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 Average gained 63.07 points from Friday to 9,266.78.
The broader Topix index was up 5.91 points, or 0.71 percent,to 836.89.
Trading volume on the main section contracted to 1,439 million shares from 1,589 million Friday.
