If you could choose your gender would you? (Third Gender)?

The terms third gender and third sex describe individuals who are categorized (by their will or by social consensus) as neither man nor woman, as well as the social category present in those societies who recognize three or more genders.

Do you think it’s strange some cultures do this? Like someone being spiritually a man in a woman’s body.

I think I would’ve liked to choose my gender, I’m male, but honestly, I don’t feel particularly "male" OR "female". So, personally, I don’t find it strange.

I don’t really think there is a "3rd gender" personally, sex is determined if one has "XX" chromosomes or "XY" chromosomes, there isn’t anything else, so there isn’t a third gender, at least not technically or scientifically speaking.

regardless of how one feels within, there is not now, nor will there ever be a third gender.

You are born either male or female. There is no "other" Gender.

I like girls too much to choose any other gender. It chose me.

I wish I had my own boobs to play with. I would not want to be a girl though.

How can i memorize these names for a test?

I am taking anthropology and i have a test comingup. i need a way to remember these names.
1. ardipithecus ramidus
2. australopithecus anamesis
3. australopithecus afarensis
4. australopithecus africanus
5. australopithecus robustus
6. Homo habilus
7. homo erectus
8.homo sapiens (archaic)
9. homo sapiens (neanderthals)
10. homo sapiens (sapiens)

thanks :)

Make a song out of them

Ok this will make me sound insane but I’m learning german and any words that I just can’t seem to remember I will sing… I will literally sing them in a little tune until they stick in my head, or look at myself in a mirror say the word and what it means until I get it right. This is my way of remembering long complicated words :P however everyone has different learning styles, most people I know sit down with their notes and copy them out again but I personally find this super boring.

Try singing it to the tune ‘The Ashgrove.’

Oh, ramidus anamesis, and aferensis africanus’
Robustus and habilus, erectus homo sapiens,
homo sapiens three times and we’re all done.

Works for me.

Try using acronyms or decronyms. Yu can also associate each word with something else you know and understand well, and once that thing is brought up, you will automatically remember the word you associated it with.

use shorter names like:
a. ramidus
a. anamesis
a.afarensis
etc…
h. habilus
h. erectus

And try counting how many there are so when you list them you will know if you remembered to list them all.

Imagine each one as a funny picture, connecting to the next funny picture.

Really we consider this strange because it is different from our own cultural beliefs and values. I have lived in numerous cultures and you just have to learn to adjust to the beliefs of that culture even if you do not believe the slightest bit of it. Going back to you question: no, because these people believe that they are men (therefor being men), but have a women’s body (making them women) really these people are both men and women because gender is not only physical as well as mental as some of the great philologists, such as Sigmund Freud, have shown us.

hell no. im a man and its awesome.
