Two Loss Every Time – Chapter 1 – Tale
I woke up only to find out a monitor reading my pulse as well as a saline solution operating through my vein. I felt pain when I tried to fold my finger and suddenly I remembered in how a lot pain my heart is. Tears started to corner my eyes and in no time they started to flow down leaving my pillow wet. I started to cry loudly and just then the nurse came operating. She asked me to calm down which was not at all assuring me and I kept on crying. She told me if I do not stop then she has to give me anesthesia to make me sleep. Even that did not help and she went outside leaving me crying as hell. Within 3 minutes she was back with some injection which she put in the saline bottle and the last picture that came to my mind was Steve?s crying face.
FLASHBACK:
Lisa?s P.O.V
In college, I was just like a normal girl, having my own group of friends, some girls and some guys to hang around, talk, crack jokes and everything we wanted to do. I would tell 1 factor – we never ever bunked our classes, in no way did any harm to anybody, by no means went against the disciplines of the college. So in brief we were just a bunch of very good guys and girls. We used to be very free with each other, could discuss anything, could depend on each other and do all sort of friendly things. And as if it just happens two of us were very close – me and Maria. We virtually shared everything and used to understand each other?s mind without even a word. In hostel, all can find the two of us most of the times, being close to each other, 1?s hands on the other?s waist. Of course, we were room mates and we do everything to stay pleased and keep others pleased. A change in my life happened when we were in the 2nd year. I was noticing Maria is behaving a little different, being a lot more coy. She was behaving flirtatious.
“Is there some thing you want to tell me?” I asked while we two were just sitting quietly in the evening on the terrace enjoying the view of the trees, long long trees and the breeze flowing through it making a whistle.
“Why? Do you feel like that?” she stated.
“Yeah, I donno, for last some days, you are different?”
“Am I?”
“Oh, come on, whats that. There is some thing. Isn?t it?”
“Is it so?” She stated even in a far more teasing tone.
“Yeah of course, you got to tell me this, else see what I do with you?”
“Oh, somebody getting impatient. Why are you so impatient? Are you in really like?”
“I am going to kill you Maria, tell me right now, or you are going to handle this!”
“What I am going to han-”
I cut her in middle and moved my fingers towards her, catching her in her waist and started to tickle her like mad, knowing the reality she is too considerably sensitive to this. She started jumping up and sown, started to run out of me. I started to follow her and each time I caught her, I used to move my ingers and she used to jump up and down like a toad. She would run out of my hands and I would follow her and this operating continued until we heard a voice shouting – “Lisa, Maria .. let?s go for dinner, it is already 9pm. Stop operating. Stop guys!”
That affected less and we nonetheless continued and kept on jumping from the bed, smashing at the door, again operating through the hall, over the bench, behind the curtains of the window, until Lily caught me which led Maria escape from me and stop at a distance from me.
We both were breathing badly and sweating too.
“It?s getting late madam, do you realize that, already I called you out, but, you guys…” Lily continued while nonetheless holding me.
After that we went on to have dinner and returned to our beds, we were tired by 10:30 and heading for sleep, when Maria told me that she will answer my question tomorrow morning in college. I was so considerably tired to make that conversation live again and so decided to sleep and wait for the next morning.
I woke up my eyes next morning only to find out the same ceiling and Maria nonetheless sleeping next to me.I looked at her for a moment and moved towards the bathroom. Washed my face, brushed my teeth and finally came out of the sleepish mode. Opened my eyes and lifted my face to see the mirror. I’ve to admit, I looked truly cute in the morning when I wake up, and it continues like that virtually, until I face the sun. Yeah I am too significantly sensitive to heat and my face becomes red and looks tired even if I am under the Summer Sun just for half an hour.
I came outside only to find out Maria nonetheless in bed, sleeping nicely, drank some water and went to bathroom for taking a bath.
“Maria, wake up or you are going to be late for classes” I shouted, to which Maria even dint turn up a little.
“Maria.” I gave her a look while shouting again and putting my trousers on. “Maria, do you hear me?”
“Hmmmm?” Maria whispered and turned towards me, nonetheless in bed.
“You finished up for the bathroom?” She asked lazily.
“Yeah, and far better you also do the same, or you are going to attend the second class and some scolding from Mrs. Ray. Too” I smiled while trying to wake her up.
“Oh, yeah, I will be ready in half an hour, wait for me,okay!” She got up and headed towards bathroom. I opened my door and went to Lily?s room to find out whether she was ready, and she stated “10 minutes” from inside the bathroom.
I came back to my room, collected my books and also Maria?s, set everything right and started watching news. As correctly stated, Maria was out in half an hour and she got dressed quickly, combed her hair and grinned at me. We all had breakfast and moved towards the college building. On the way, Maria stated “Somebody looking beautiful”, She paused looked at me. I thought she would point to some girl, when she again stated looking towards Lily “Isn?t it Lily?” and gave a teasing smile.
I looked at her not getting why she is behaving differently. She lloked at me and I stated in a question “What?”
“I donno, I think you are looking a a lot more beautiful today. Anything special?”
I looked at her and stated “You also look good” and that was true. She is actually beautiful, outspoken and smart.
“Yeah, but there is one thing different about you.” She stated.
I remembered last night factor and realized she is trying to connect to our last night conversation.
“Hey you were supposed to tell me some thing today, is this all a part of that. What are you trying to say?” I demanded.
“Ha ha ha, do not worry we are on the way to your excitement, I will not tell you anything directly and you have to understand from the clues, I give you. And this will continue till you yourself do not get what is the factor.”
“You are making me mad Maria”
“Hmmmm, I adore performing that”
“Hey whats going on between you two?” Lily questioned. I turned towards her and then towards Maria. Before I could speak anything, Maria stated “don’t worry darling, you will come to know very soon. Once our little Lisa comes to know about this, it will be celebration time, so just have your patience.” She assured Lily leaving me impatient.
We headed towards the building and as like everyday, found out Steve, Nate and Erik already here outside the classroom. They all waved and we shared our glances at each other and stated “Hi” to all. Nate and Erik came towards us, while Steve just stayed behind for a moment and then followed them. Me and Steve had a greater bonding among all these, we like to spend time together. I just feel relaxed being with him. I can talk endlessly to him, once it had happened that we were so significantly in talk that we even dint realize, or at least I dint realize that I am late to go into the hostel. I saw Steve coming, his face down, as if little frightened from one thing, as if he is coming to attend some interviews. I thought for a moment and looked at Maria only to find out that she was looking at me. I asked her “Whats wrong with him? Is he alright?”
“Go, find out yourself. Why asking me?” She stated while moving her lips to 1 side. I could not understand why was she being so childish? But, she was correct. Why should I ask her anyway, I know Steve far better, I can directly ask him. I moved towards him and we saw Mrs Ray heading towards class and we all went inside. Maria went to sit with Steve, whereas she used to sit with me. I thought may be she will be asking Steve if there is any problem with him. And Nate came and sat beside me, while Lily and Erik sat together. Within minutes I was listening to Mrs. Ray and dint bother about what the class is performing.
“Class! We?ll go for this chapter tomorrow. It is going to be interesting 1.” Mrs Ray stated with a brief smile while leaving the class. I glanced at my notes once much more, flipped through the pages once again and put it in my bag. Only then we knew that we are not going to have the next class as Mr. Griggs is on leave. So we have a free time, I looked at Nate and gladly stated “Wow! Lets have some fun!”
“Yeah very considerably, so what can we do now, some gossip?”Steve came from behind and stated me this while touching me on my shoulders. I turned to look at him,he was bright as always, neat and clean shaved, big blue eyes and light brown hair. He put 1 of his hand on my bench and looked at me till I gave an answer. I smiled and stated “Yeah, lets just gossip in the garden, what say Maria?” I could nonetheless find a little nervousness in his eyes, he cant hide me that. Whats wrong with him? If he has some problem, then why is he pretending to be alright?
“Yeah, lets to go to the Garden, Come on Lily, Erik!” She shouted.
“I will just go to the library and come back. You guys carry on, I will catch you all down there.” Lily stated.
“I will join you, I too got some thing at Library.” Nate told her.
I have always found Nate being a little far more close to Lily. Even me and Maria have discussed on this but we never ever told these people.
“Yeah, Carry on.” Stated Erik while holding Maria?s hand and Maria holding my hand. Steve next to Erik. We all moved to the garden.
We just sat down on the bench, exactly where other people were also sitting in other benches in the park, talking, laughing, cracking jokes. We all were about to get into different conversations, when Maria pulled Erik and stated “Let?s go, get some juice.” She looked at me. “Do you want some?” She asked me.
“Nah, I do not feel like” I stated turning towards her.
“What about you Steve?” Erik asked while standing up to go with Maria.
“Umm, Orange” He stated and we watched them moving towards the corner and vanished from our site.
I returned my look towards Steve and was about to ask him what?s wrong with him.
“Steve? I-” Steve interrupted “When are you going to see your parents?”
“Steve, You know very well that I am going in December, you are asking as if you do not know.”
“Yeah yeah, I remembered” He stated, although he knows it very well.
“What you gonna do soon after classes?”
“As usual, I will be going to hostel.”
“I see.”
“Steve, is there any problem?”
“Why?” He looked a bit nervous while asking so.
“No, I feel you are nervous like you have an interview. Is anything wrong? You can always tell me. You know right?” I dint understand why he was looking down all the time when I am talking to him, looking into his face.
“Hey, nothing like that. See I am alright.” He stated finally raising his head. Normally he is not that kind of person. Yes he does not talk too a lot, but he mingles with me ver well, at least he speaks out very well, within our friends.
“I cant see that” I stated.
“May be due to the fact, I dint…. sleep properly and feeling a little…. headache, dint get… time to have breakfast… and am feeling a little hungry…, ……See I asked to get orange juice for me.”
He stated within pauses while trying to find some very good excuse to convince her.
I looked at him and thought for a moment why was he lying me.
“What?s taking so a lot time for Maria?” I told as I tried to look for them and started to stand.
“I will go and check” He stated and within minutes he was back with Maria, Erik and juice.
He drank the juice, we sat there for some a lot more time and headed towards classes.
Maria?s Point Of View
“Did you tell her anything or at least give a hint?” Maria whispered to Steve while sitting in the class of Mr. Reynard, slow enough so that no body else would hear them talking.
“No, I-I just could not ..”
“Steve, You are going no exactly where! You cant even tell her. This is the last year, when are you going to tell? Soon after we leave the college?”
“I tried, but I think it will take some time.”
“At least, you gave her some hint.”
“No, I am afraid, following so many days I’ve thought like this, If she even does not want to talk about it, then I will be shattered.”
“See, only due to the fact you told me to keep it a secret, I am not telling her, otherwise I would have already told her a week ago. And by the way, 1 day she will eventually know. Right?”
“OK, Maria, I will try my best, Mr. Reynard might throw us out, we will talk on this soon after class.” Steve turned towards the board.
“Oh, he is so innocent, but he has to speak up, And I will find out a way to make Lisa to take words from his mouth.” Maria thought to herself.
Back in hostel, She saw Lisa relaxing, when Lisa found out she was already in room.
“Hey, How was your last class?” Lisa asked.
“It was great. What about yours?”
“As usual, boring, as you know.”
After talking to Steve soon after the classes, they have produced a raw strategy for all this.
“Hey, I think Steve has got some problem.” Stated Lisa while peeling an orange.
She chuckled and thought “Oh, this boy is killing me. He himself not telling and Here this girl has already started asking. Great, she has got some hint.”
“Why? What happened?” She stated.
“I felt like some thing is bothering him.” Lisa stated while eating 1 clove of orange and throwing 1 far more to Maria.
“Well, Why you are so bothered dear?” She stated teasingly.
“Come on, he is friend so I thought if some thing is bothering him.”
“Find it out yourself honey, I will be taking a shower” She headed towards bathroom right after gulping 1 a lot more clove of orange.
“That’s not the kind Steve is. Maria is right, I should be talking to him on this, But he denies it. I will take care of all this tomorrow.” Lisa thought.
