Rwandan president appoints two senators
Kigali: President Paul Kagame yesterday appointed Jose Kagabo and Henriette Umulisa to fill the two vacant seats in the Senate.
The news of the senators’ appointment was communicated in a communique from the President’s Office, signed by Minister Solina Nyirahabimana.
Kagabo is replacing Safari Stanley, who fled the country after he was convicted for his role in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, while Umulisa replaces Beatrice Mukabaranga, who resigned her seat in the Senate to pave way for investigations into her alleged issuing of bouncing cheques.
