U.S. stocks open lower and CPI report baked-ga labor department
U.S. stocks fell Friday,Citigroup, Bank of America and GE have announced earnings; Labor Department announced that CPI in June has decreased by 0.1% in line with expectations.
EST at 09:36 on the July 16, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 62.67 points to close at 10,296.64 points, down 0.60%; the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 13.91 points to close at 2,235.17 points, down 0.62%; Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell 7.56 points to close at 1,088.92 points, down 0.69%.
U.S. Labor Department announced the consumer price index (CPI) in June fell 0.1%, the core consumer price index rose 0.2%, bank of America slumped 4%, Citigroup fell 1.7 percent, BP down 1.3%
